MRFF Newsletter
As some of you may know, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation now has a bi-weekly newsletter to keep you posted on the work we're doing. We're currently putting together the next edition - to be released at the end of next week.
We expect that the first newsletter, which went out last Thursday, will be posted on the website shortly.

As the election primaries are in overdrive, I'm quite interested to know the position of our potential Commander in Chief's on religious freedom and separation of Church and State. I was appalled to read a Washington Post article in which Gov Huckabee stated to a Church congregation, "When we become believers, it's as if we have signed up to be part of God's Army, to be soldiers for Christ." No doubt this darling of the Evangelicals wants to "take the nation back for Christ."
People should be treated like they want to be treated. It would be a fine day to be able to talk to someone of any race or religion and not conversate about either of those two topics. I believe that religion is fictional and it's only purpose was to give hope and order to people who were lost. But that is my belief and I will not preach it to anyone. I am not saying Jesus was never real. I believe he was a man that meant the best for his fellow men. And the Dominionist Christians need to look back on that and ask themselves "Why did Jesus die?" Because everyone thought he was the "atheist" of there time. It's sad. I read the comment that the average American is like Homer Simpson. It a sense yes. If something isn't directly effecting them they don't see it or care to. But I care. But how can I make a difference in my small little town where I would have everyone looking down on me for saying anything against Christianity? Individuals here, in rural Illinois, speak in tongue at church meetings. They feel God speaks through them. The power their faith holds over them is frightening. They feel they can do everything and that they are in the right. I am thankful that MRFF is fighting for people like me, like Jeremy Hall. It's going to be a long battle.
